seveneighteen Special: Hot 97’s Funk Flex Spins 90’s Hip-Hop (10th Anniversary)

Legendary Hot 97 DJ Funk Flex spins 90’s Hip-Hop for your 4th of July weekend!

On July 4th, 2007, Flex spun five hours of 90’s hip-hop on New York’s Hot 97. Playing hits from Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang Clan, Tim Dawg (!!!), Grand Puba, Boot Camp Clik, Redman, EPMD, Gang Starr, Eric B & Rakim, Scarface, UMC, LL Cool J and more, Flex was all over the map, and if you’re a 90’s kid like me, you loved every minute of it.  As you get ready for your Independence Day BBQ’s, if you’re still stuck on what music to play or don’t want to hire a DJ or rely on Spotify playlists, just throw this on and let it rock. (Warning: it’s a little East-Coast centric. Also, Flex played a lot of vinyl, so there’s some skips and live editing for the radio. So what?!?)

The entire show (excluding commercials) is here as a podcast. We also have a playlist to the show (broken up into four parts).

Happy Independence Day, everyone!
